Turmeric also is known for its antiseptic properties. In fact in many regions in India, after child birth turmeric is boiled with jaggery, and some dry fruits and given to new mothers who have just delivered their baby..to fasten the internal healing process.

Well, foreigners are also attesting our Ayurveda now. Turmeric enhances the texture of skin and provides it a natural glow. As far as curry is concerned, its an appetizer and keeps your digestion sound. Its an interesting but belated discovery.
